9 september 2007 Has it really been almost three years since the last update? That's outrageous! Our visitors should get their money back.

But it's a big update this time. Here are the main points:

Phew, more than a day's work. That should keep the punters happy for a while - gives 'em their money's worth, I should think.
23 November 2004 Changed the name of the advertising graphics directory from 'ads' to 'salesliterature', after playing with the excellent Adblock plugin for the even more excellent Firefox browser. This way, visitors who use Firefox with Adblock and filter on the string */ads/* will be able to see the thumbnails and full-size ads on the advertising page.

Added links to German and Belgian Triumph brochures websites to the links page.

14 august 2004 Corrected unforgivable misspelling of Howard R. Baugues's name on the first ads page and amended the review of Triumph Spitfire & GT6 Magazine on the magazines page.
5 May 2004 Built and uploaded the US-market 1969 Mk3 brochure page. More brochures have been scanned, so there are more to come online in the next few days/weeks/months.
28 April 2004 Added some books in the books page and updated the magazines page.
23 March 2004 Corrected formatting error in the windscreen dating part of the identification page. Thanks go to Mark Recht from France for pointing this out.
14 March 2004 Added a lot more advertisements to the ads page and subsequently split it up into six pages with 58 ads on them.
1 March 2004 At last, the page with the four slightly different brochures is built and uploaded. Took a lot of scanning, Photoshopping and sorting, but it's there.
8 December 2003 On receiving e-mail from the webmaster of britishcarlinks.com, added link to www.britishcarlinks.com to the links page and removed links on same page to BCCP and Hofman Leek.
7 December 2003 Added the magazines page, with a selection of our favourite magazines.
30 November 2003 Bought some 'new' old books at an autojumble today, which were duly added to the books page
23 November 2003 I'm on a roll: the 1971 MkIV UK market leaflet, 1974 Triumph Spitfire 1500 brochure for the US-market and 1976 Triumph Spitfire 1500 US brochure (which was a gargantuan scanning & Photoshopping effort) come online. That makes a whopping twenty in all, with still more to come.
22 November 2003 Made pages for the the 1972 MkIV US/Canada brochure and the late Canadian Brochure. Scanner is finally working reliably, so some more of Jacob's brochures were scanned, but didn't build the HTML yet.
11 October 2003 Uploaded new 1977 Dutch leaflet and made minor text alterations to the front page, the video files page and the page about Jacob's Spit.
10 October 2003 Uploaded the new tools page and the Triumph advertising page. The latter still needs lots of work and splitting up in sub-pages, but the menu's on all the other pages already point to it.
23 September 2003 Small redo of the error404 page, with a better picture.
21 September 2003 We added the books page and the video files page to triumphspitfire.nl, with lots of lovely things. Eric also created a search utilty on the home page. Jacob updated his own Spitfire page.
19 September 2003 The hoster of our new domain enables us to do all sorts of funny things with an .htaccess file, like a custom error404 page.
7 September 2003 Some minor updates to the buyers guide.
5 September 2003 As of 17.10 hours local time today, triumphspitfire.nl is live! Put a notice on all pages of the old site (except the mailform page) with a link to the new domain. Submitted the website to the major searchengines.
20 August 2003 Added 1970 Mk3 colour brochure to triumphspitfire.nl, which is still not public. Removed spambot fodder added on 20 July 2002, due to targeted spammer having gone bankrupt. :-)
18 August 2003 At last, another update, in honour of moving the whole site to a new URL, on a spanking new domain: triumphspitfire.nl. Made pages for the 1975 US brochure, the early 1962 leaflet and the absolutely terrible late US market brochure. First concept of page about Jacob's Spit uploaded. Also uploaded slightly revised buyer's guide, which was done on april 20, 2003. Not public yet - old site remains functional.
21 July 2002 Added a question about valuation and local links to the FAQ pages.
20 July 2002 Added spambot fodder to some of the most popular pages on this site. Invisible to human visitors, but will hopefully get picked up by spam harvesting webspiders.
25 March 2002 Did some updates on the Spitfire history page - mainly cosmetics.
14 March 2002 Added 'Privacy and security statement' to the mailform page. Some more changes to the FAQ. All easily spammable e-mail addresses now removed. The antispam-battle continues....
1 February 2002 Some small updates to the FAQ
24 December 2001 Added the 1962 Spitfire 4 and 1973 Spitfire MkIV brochures.
5 october 2001 Added a link to the new Official Spitfire Graveyard website on my own Spitfire Graveyard page
12 September 2001 Updated Spitfire History Page with some info on the name 'Spitfire'.
29 August 2001 Filled 'prices' table on buyersguide with Euro's instead of Guilders.
8 August 2001 Spitfire history page live for the first time.
26 june 2001 Made various alterations to main page, crash page and FAQ
22 June 2001 Got fed up with all the unreadable HTML in my mailbox (why can't people learn how to drive their mail clients?) and changed the e-mail page to an e-mail form.
Made all the brochure .jpg's open in a new browser window.
Removed all links to the root page of my webspace.
27 January 2001 Added a German language 1977 brochure to the Sales literature pages. Thanks to Michael Walk for providing the scans.
18 January 2001 Added information on VIN's (Vehicle Identification Numbers) to the identification page.
27 September 2000 Gave the spark plugs page its own counter, as I suspect many visitors to the main page enter through the silly little plugs page.
26 September 2000 Added links to large pics to Eric's Spitfire and did lots of very minor alterations to all other pages
20 August 2000 Added some URL's to the Spitlinks page
15 August 2000 Added two of Jacob's pictures to the Spitfire Graveyard page.
14 August 2000 Rectified small error in link to 1974 Dutch sales brochure on the brochures page. Thanks to Jacob for pointing this out to me.
13 August 2000 Major update of sales brochures page. Added a 1967 Mk3 brochure in Dutch and another 1974 brochure, also in Dutch.
16 July 2000 Rectified minor problem of overlapping text and pictures on the Spitfire Graveyard page.
16 June 2000 Added the Spitfire Graveyard page.
26 May 2000 Added some nice pictures of my own Spitfire to the page about my own Spitfire.
12 May 2000 Major rebuild of complete site. Many pages split for better navigation, fancy graphics added to give the impression of rounded corners. Separate page about my own Spitfire added.
21 March 2000 Added several links to other owner's pages to the Spitlinks page.
19 March 2000 Finally finished the buyers guide and identification page.
3 February 2000 Added the page about repairing accident damage on my own Spitfire.
22 October 1999 Added page with Flemish MkIV sales brochure.
18 October 1999 Added 1975 UK and 1978 NL sales brochures.
11 May 1999 Added 1980 UK colour sales brochure, the see-thru Spitfire and the spark plugs page.
4 May 1999 Added a page with 1974 UK sales brochure
22 February 1999 First publication on a single webpage, with short story about my own Spit, how and why I bought it and the pros and cons of Spitfire ownership.
